Launching a Succesful MVP for Wayliv in less than 2 Month - Wayliv

The Client

Wayliv is a project led by a finance expert and a hospitality expert, aiming to elevate the experience for both business owners and expats. When they reached out to us, they had already spent months on research and validation but hadn’t seen much progress after working with freelancers. Their approach was heavily focused on outputs (just launching) rather than outcomes (launching the right thing).

The mission

Our mission lasted 2 months, from November 2024 to December 2024.

The mission consisted of a Product Discovery project in which we would try to review the desirability, business viability, technology, legality, and usability of the idea they had in mind. The biggest challenge was to see if we could identify the right segment to validate and the distribution channel for them.

The milestones

  • MVP Definition: Designed feature setup, formulated test hypotheses, conducted smoke tests, researched, and mapped user flows & journeys.

  • MVP Development: Led MVP app development using no-code tools (Softr & Framer), set up analytics architecture, and prepared customer support.

  • MVP User Research & Workshops: Conducted qualitative and quantitative research during MVP launch, hosting workshops to refine the app for a second iteration.

This is how we did it

Wayliv had a well-defined vision, but with that came significant risks. Before moving forward with development, we focused on reviewing key assumptions about the product, market, and users. Our goal was to identify the riskiest areas and ensure we were building the right solution.

We started with a risk assessment and defined the most effective MVP approach—combining user interviews with product mockups and test trials to validate demand. Once we confirmed desirability, we narrowed the scope to a lean first version with only core functionality, reducing development time and costs.

Given Wayliv’s membership-based model for professionals, we chose Softr for the front end, Airtable for the back end, and Make for automation. The biggest technical challenge was designing a custom membership architecture in Stripe to support a key cashback feature.

In just two weeks, we built and launched the MVP for 20 beta users. Wayliv is now in the user validation phase, and we continue monitoring engagement to assess whether the solution effectively addresses its core problem.
